Kanban JIT
Introduction:
Kanban (pronounced kahn-bahn), literally translated, means
"visible record" or "visible plate". More generally, kanban is
taken to mean "card". The Toyota kanban system employs a card
to signal the need to deliver more parts and an identical or
similar card to signal the need to produce more parts.
Kanban are a tool of the
just-in-time system that carries information control. They are
frequently tags or pieces of paper.
For whom: Management staff from production, six
sigma black belts, production control, process, etc.
Objectives: Understand the basis concept of "pull"
typed kanban and its actual implication on cycle time and WIP
and quality level in manufacturing company.
